With decree in SP, Hyundai plant in Piracicaba extends collective vacation

After the state decree that extends the quarantine in São Paulo until April 22, Hyundai announced that it will extend the stop at the plant in Piracicaba (SP) until April 26. The unit suspended activities on March 20 after an employee was identified with a suspected coronavirus. He tested negative later.

According to Hyundai, the measure follows the recommendation of social isolation and restriction of movement of people. The collective vacation at the factory began on March 26 and was expected to end on April 13.

The forecast is that activities at the unit will resume on April 27. In the case of Hyundai's offices in São Paulo (SP), the return should take place on April 22, just after the Tiradentes holiday.

The company said that activities considered essential are maintained in the factory and in the offices during the additional period of collective vacation. "New measures can be taken later, as directed by the authorities and the circumstances relating to Covid-19", the note adds.

Operating suspension

On March 20, Hyundai announced that it was suspending the operation by identifying a suspected coronavirus in an employee. The plant in Piracicaba was closed for hygiene and disinfection procedures.

The employee works in a production support area, and after identifying the suspect, he waited at home for the results of the tests and fulfilled the quarantine period. The company later announced that the employee tested negative for coronavirus.

The unit announced a collective vacation right after the factory cleaning period. On impact on production, the company's advisory had already informed G1 that a strategic stop was already planned in March.
