The renewed Yamaha MT-03 had its patent registered in Brazil showing its new "controversial face" presented abroad in 2019. The design was published in this week's edition of the National Institute of Industrial Property (Inpi).

The updated model is among the bikes expected for 2020, but there is still no confirmation from the automaker about its arrival.

In addition, with the stoppages caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the effect this may have on new product launches on the Brazilian market is not yet known.

The registration with the INPI does not guarantee that the motorcycle will be sold in Brazil. It only serves to safeguard the automaker's intellectual rights.

With the evolution, the MT-03 left that face more straight, and adopted elements seen in the MTs with greater displacement. Like its faired "sister", the YZF-R3, which was updated in Brazil in 2019, the MT-03 set has also evolved, gaining inverted front suspensions and LED lights.

The MT-03 received a minimalist headlight at the front. Its upper part is formed by two closed "eyes" that are complemented by a "cannon" at the bottom, which yielded a very futuristic aspect.

In addition to moving the front of the bike, Yamaha redesigned the fairings around the tank, giving a more robust feature. The fuel compartment itself was also wider, despite maintaining the volume of 14 liters.

The engine follows the same configuration of 2 cylinders and 321 cc displacement. It yields 42.01 horsepower at 10,750 revolutions per minute and 3.02 kgfm of torque at 9,000 rpm.
