Yes, the car is moving with no one inside. No, it's not getting out of control.

But we will forgive if you are a little nervous at first.

Tesla owners flooded social media with videos depicting their cars' newest feature: the ability to use their phones to tell them to drive from parking spaces to the sidewalk where the owner is standing.

Called "Smart Summon" feature is part of Tesla 10.0 software update, which is delivered wirelessly. It is available to Tesla owners who have paid for what the company calls "full driving ability" or "enhanced autopilot."

The car must be "within their line of sight," Tesla said, and owners "must remain responsible for the car and monitor it and its surroundings at all times." It also works only in private parking lots.

"It's the perfect resource to use if you have an overflowing shopping cart, are dealing with a demanding child, or just don't want to walk to your car in the rain," the company said.

The videos show several examples of Teslas addressing their owners perfectly, albeit at a very slow pace.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk praised the company's standalone technology as one of the main reasons for buying a Tesla instead of another vehicle.

"The call is improving fast," Musk said on Twitter on Friday.
