Today marks the 18th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, which left 2,996 innocent civilians dead. The deadliest terrorist attack in American history saw hijacked jets fly to the Twin Towers in downtown New York. A documentary on Channel 5, titled "The Missing Evidence", detailed the incredible revelation that the official 9/11 investigation – the 9/11 Commission – apparently omitted 118 eyewitness reports.
All of these first-hand accounts of the attacks described mysterious "explosions" at the scene.
At 8:45 am, a hijacked American passenger Boeing 767 crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York.
The aircraft loaded with 20,000 gallons of aviation fuel hit the 80th floor of the 110-story skyscraper.
Just 18 minutes later, a second Boeing 767 – United Airlines Flight 175 crashed near the 60th floor of the south tower.
Less than two hours after the first tower was struck at 9:59 am, the south tower collapsed in less than 10 seconds – 29 minutes later, the north tower collapsed to the ground – just 102 minutes after it was struck.
However, according to the Channel 5 documentary, the official report investigating the attacks does not explain the hundreds of eyewitnesses of explosions at the scene.
The documentary's narration reads: "In total, more than 118 New York firefighters claim to have heard explosions – but their testimony is not addressed in the official report."
A firefighter, Jimmy Grillo, told cameras at the time, "There was a heavy duty explosion."
Another firefighter Tyrone Johnston added, "There was a third explosion when the lobby collapsed on us."
In reported testimony, firefighter Rich Banaciski said: “I remember there was only one explosion. It looked like on television they blew up these buildings.
"It felt like everything was spinning like a belt, all these explosions."
Fellow firefighter Frank Campagna also said, "You see three explosions and then everything happens."
Richard Gage, who leads the group of architects and engineers of the 9/11 truth-plotting conspiracy theory, said the omission "was not accidental."
Last week, researchers dismissed government officials' findings in 2008 that World Trade Center 7 crashed due to "uncontrolled building fires."
After an extensive four-year study at the University of Alaska using four extremely complex computer models, Dr. Leroy Hulsey, Dr. Zhili Quan and Professor Feng Xiao found that the “fire did not cause the collapse”.
Robert Korol, professor of civil engineering and joint author of the 9/11 Truth Architects and Engineers, says the tower's destruction was caused by "controlled demolition."
Theorists were also skeptical of the building's occupants, as it was believed that two of the floors housed the secret service.
Korol said, "I just couldn't understand how these buildings collapsed. It made no sense.
"In fact, neither before nor since 9/11 did the fires cause the collapse of a steel-framed skyscraper to collapse – nor any other natural event, except the 1985 Mexico City earthquake that struck down a building of 21 floors.
"Otherwise, the only phenomenon capable of completely collapsing these buildings was through a procedure known as controlled demolition, where explosives or other devices are used to intentionally tear down a structure."
